Madison and MyStudyLife
MyStudyLife is a long-standing student planner built around your class timetable. Madison is built around your syllabi. Both plan a term; they start from different places.
What MyStudyLife is
MyStudyLife is a planner app for students, on the web and on phones, organised around classes, tasks and exams. It is known for handling class timetables, including rotating schedules.
For its current features, platforms and pricing, MyStudyLife's own site is the place to check.
The same jobs, two approaches.
How MyStudyLife and Madison each handle the parts of a term that matter. Theirs, described; not scored.
- Where you start
- MyStudyLife:Your class timetable: when and where each class meets.
- Madison:Your syllabi: every reading, quiz, assignment and exam with its date.
- Getting the dates in
- MyStudyLife:Tasks and exams added in the app.
- Madison:Drop in the syllabus (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, text or a pasted schedule). Madison reads every dated thing and shows it to you to check before anything is saved.
- The whole term
- MyStudyLife:See MyStudyLife's own views.
- Madison:One strip of the whole term with every exam visible, plus week and calendar views.
- Grades
- MyStudyLife:See MyStudyLife's own site.
- Madison:Weighted categories, dropped scores, and what you need on the rest to hit your target.
- Planning the hours
- MyStudyLife:See MyStudyLife's own site.
- Madison:A study plan for the week that works around practice, shifts and classes, and learns from what you actually time.
- How it looks
- MyStudyLife:MyStudyLife's own design.
- Madison:Your own paper, colour and type; with Studio, photos, stickers, a dashboard and a desk pet.
Who each one suits.
Neither is right for everyone. If the first list sounds like you, that one is the better choice, and that is fine.
MyStudyLife, if
- Your week is defined by a complicated timetable, such as a rotating schedule.
- You mostly need to know which class is next and where.
Madison, if
- Your term is defined by its deadlines and exams.
- You want the dates read from the syllabus rather than typed.
- You want grades and a study plan worked out from the same dates.
Madison for Students is $4 a month or $29 a year after a free trial, with Studio from $3 a month on top. Descriptions of MyStudyLife are our summary of its public materials as of October 2026; its own site has the current details.
Questions
Does Madison show my class timetable?
Classes can go in as fixed weekly commitments, which the study plan works around, and a course calendar (Canvas, Moodle, Google) can be subscribed to. Madison is strongest on deadlines rather than room numbers.
Can I bring my calendar across?
If you can export it as a calendar file or subscribe to it by link, Madison can read it and keep it up to date.
